Perfect for cutting out sidelites May 16, 2009 Greg Scheffel (Fort Wayne, IN USA) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I recently purchased a Rockwell Sonicrafter which came with this blade. I cannot speak to how well it will last but I am a contractor which installs decorative door glass into existing doors and sidelites. I bought this tool specifically to cut out sidelites since the space is usually too narrow to use a jig saw and a saws-all just does not make a clean enough cut and is too hard to handle. My very first job with this was two fiberglass sidelites where I cut out the entire sidelite for a full decorative glass. This blade worked perfectly as well as the Sonicrafter itself. I was able to plunge cut without drilling a pilot hole first and being able to cut square corners with ease saved me time. The blade cut through the thin fiberglass like butter and did not seem to be any slower after cutting out two sidelites. Also I was able to cut all the way through the foam core so when I cut the other fiberglass skin on the other side the piece came out nicely and cleanly. This blade was perfect for the job, saved me time, and was a great investment. Now I will be interested in seeing how long the blade lasts.
Universal Blade Tooth Wear - READ October 4, 2009 Dean Smith (Cleveland) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
The blade does get damaged by cutting nails, however, I am building a deck and here's what I learned. The "worn out" blade still cuts the nails because of moderate hand pressure, heat, and friction. The teeth did not really make the "nail cut" much faster because the teeth were gone almost immediately. I save the worn blades for cutting nails "only" and I use the newer "toothed" blades for everything else. Do not discard the worn blades as I have learned the hard (and expensive) way!Rockwell RW9122 Sonicrafter 1-3/8-Inch Universal End Cut Blade, 1-Piece
Expensive, but worth it! October 4, 2009 L. Wilder 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered the 3 blade pack when I ordered my Rockwell Sonicrafter after reading reviews about the short cutting life these blades seem to have. I'm still on my original blade after 21 plunge cuts into 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 inch pressure treated pine with concrete behind it (i.e. the blade often contacted the concrete), 3 cuts through 3/4 inch flex copper tubing, and 4 cuts though 5/8 inch PT door frames over concrete. The blade is finally showing signs of laboring through a cut. I probably could have used other tools to make these cuts, but it would have been a hassle, been messier, and taken much more time than with the Sonicrafter. If I don't ever use this machine again, it will have been worth the puchase price!
100 and 1 uses August 2, 2009 Joseph A. Robichaud (Hallieford Va) Every day we find uses for the Sonicrafter. Every trades man on the job wants one.
It does jobs no other tool can do.
