5 out of 5 stars Great Clamps   February 11, 2007

These clamps get used often in my shop. They have enough reach, 4" , to clamp a project to a bench or tool table. The 8" is perfect for those quick glue ups that don't require a long clamp. I reach for these instead of C-clamps since you can adjust them quickly. You wouldn't go wrong with a few sets of these.

5 out of 5 stars Heavy Duty   April 6, 2009

These clamps are quite heavy duty, with good weight to them. Very good 4" throat, solid movement. Handy 8" length.

3 out of 5 stars Bessey TG4.008 Quality Issue   March 15, 2010

Bessey seems to be the best clamp manufacturer on the market. Bessey has a web site where they claim to be superior [...]. However, the clamps I just received do not live up to their claims. I've had others just like the ones I just received from Amazon and have been very happy with them. However, the two clamps I just received are defective. One actually is not too bad but the other is really bad. On the fixed end of the clamp, the clamping surface is not perpendicular to the clamp. The misalignment is sideways when looking into the throat of the clamp. In other words, the fixed end of the clamp is slightly twisted. It's a bad casting... This is not a big deal when clamping thin items but when using the clamp extended out, the clamping surfaces go out of align with one another then the clamp twists out of align and can slip off the project. Also, the project can be damaged by the fixed foot not pressing evenly. I was tempted to keep the better of the two clamps I received and just grind the surface straight since it wasn't too bad. I decided to return both and hope for the best. We'll see what the replacements look like...

I sure hope this feedback makes its way to the Manufacturer.
